Being the father of twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace and husband to actor David Burtka, Neil Patrick Harris is proud and he really should be as he has one of the most solid relationships in Hollywood. The Scottish- American actor Alan Cumming has played many straight characters throughout his career. But, he has been openly gay for many years now. The couple is currently living in Manhattan with their two dogs and have recently purchased a New York townhouse for $4.65 million, which they are currently renovating. At that time, it caused quite a stir in the industry. However, things are very different these days. She could be considered one of the pioneers in coming out in Hollywood, paving the road for future generations. Ellen has been hosting one of the most famous talk shows in the business for over 16 years.
Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck has always been a longtime supporter of gay rights. In 2004, he spoke up in favor of gay marriage. He claimed he hoped that someday we, as a society, can look back on this issue differently. Affleck said we should have some degree of embarrassment on how antique these notions are.
Also, he remarked that he thought it was outrageous and offensive to suggest that certain members of the LGBT community don't deserve equal rights. Moreover, Affleck made an appearance alongside his gay cousin at the 2005 Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays print advertising campaign and posed for the cameras.
Hugh Grant

English actor Hugh Grant has joined the campaign to advocate for gay marriage. The Notting Hill actor claimed that despite the fact he doesn't believe in marriage all that much, everyone should have the right to it. Grant continued explaining that he believed that love is the same for everyone, and everyone should have the same rights.
He finished his message with a reminder that whether someone is gay, straight, or whatever, they should be allowed to marry. In 2020, Hugh will be starring in the upcoming The Gentlemen, which is currently in post-production.
Matt Damon

Actor Matt Damon has finally revealed the reason why he never denied the countless rumors about him and close friend Ben Affleck. Basically, he never denied them being gay because he didn't want to offend anybody. In an interview with Ellen, he explained that he didn't see the point of denying it like it was some type of disease.
Also, he made celebrity news after an interview with The Guardian. The incident caused controversy when, according to him, they twisted his words to make him seem anti-LBGT. He claimed it was painful to see it unfold as nothing can be further from the truth. In 2019, he starred in the film FORD V FERRARI.
Carmen Electra & Joan Jett

Neither Carmen Electra nor Joan Jett has ever acknowledged the relationship as a romantic one. However, rampant rumors had it that there was definitely something more than friendship going on. Electra, who became known for her role in the hit TV show Baywatch, has been married to men. Despite this, she has been outspoken about the fact that she would consider marrying a woman. Therefore, it’s not too far-fetched to think that the rumors might have been true after all. The relationship would’ve taken place after Carmen got a divorce from Dave Navarro.

Despite being a committed and outspoken activist since the '90s, Sir Ian does not publicize any of his actual relationships so it's unclear whether he is currently dating or not. McKellan will be starring in the upcoming films The Good Liar and Cats which are both currently in post-production.

The Aquaman star is playing for both teams, as even though she used to be in a longtime relationship with female artist Tasya van Ree, she ended up marrying Johnny Depp whom she is now divorcing as she claimed he was violent with her - sources say he was suspecting she had cheated on him with friend Cara Delevingne. Anyhow, this star may still end up marrying a woman, but she will probably never need a mortgage. Jodie Foster started acting when she was very young. This has led her to become a very private person, valuing her privacy above else. In fact, although she had made references to her attraction towards women, she remained silent about it until 2013 when she made her "coming out" announcement. Jenna basically came out during an acceptance speech, in which she thanked Courtney for showing her new love. However, things have changed for Lyons in various aspects. She broke things off with Courtney in 2017 and she quit the brand she led, J. Crew. She will be coming back to the spotlight through a TV show in 2019.

Samira Wiley met Lauren Morelli on the set of Orange Is the New Black. You might be wondering why you’re not familiar with Lauren’s face and this is because she isn’t part of the cast. Lauren, a screenwriter, first got Samira’s attention when she read a script Lauren had written. She was curious to meet the person behind the work and when she saw her giving orders around and answering questions, the attraction grew. They are now married and Samira has been a very strong advocate for the LGBT community. One of her main concerns is the mental health of the youngest members of the community.

Tortorella opened up about being attracted to both men and women and recently talked about the fact that he considered himself gender-fluid. Nico, who has starred in shows like Younger, has been an advocate for the community and his efforts have been recognized. George Takei’s appearance on Star Trek cemented his career in the industry. The public will always remember his character as well as the rest of the main cast. Although he wasn’t keeping his relationship a secret, he was very private about his romance with Brad Altman. However, he came out in 2005 and then got married to Brad in 2008. By then, they had been together for years. Takei has been involved with charity work. Furthermore, he has gone all around the country with the Coming Out Project. The purpose is to reach out to the LGBT youth and encourage them to tell their stories, just as George himself has been doing.

Lance Bass was one of the members of the huge boy band, NSYNC. They achieved worldwide fame at a very young age. By the time he was 22, Lance had only been with women. However, he then realized he was attracted to men and eventually decided to come out in a very public way. In 2006, he made the cover of People magazine where he candidly spoke about his struggle to be open with the public. He met Michael Turchin and they tied the knot after a few years of being together and a short engagement. They seem very happy so far.
Cynthia Nixon & Christine Marinoni
For Cynthia Nixon, falling in love with a woman was quite unexpected. She had been married to a man for a long time before they got a divorce. However, when she met Christine Marinoni, feelings started to develop. Nowadays, Christine is her wife and mother of her children. Cynthia became famous for her role as Miranda Hobbes in the highly talked-about hit TV series, S** and the City. She later appeared in the two movies that were filmed after the show had ended. This one is definitely one of the loveliest stories out there. Both Tom Ford and Richard Buckley were involved in the fashion world and they were both very open about their personal orientation. The first time that they saw each other, they didn’t exchange a word. It wasn’t until later and with the help of a friend that they started to go out. Shortly after, they were living together. They had been through a lot of stuff, including a battle with cancer on Richard’s part early in their relationship. They now have two kids and have been together for about 30 years.

Wanda Sykes is a comedian, known for her mocking type of humor. She had a main role in the show The New Adventures of Old Christine. However, Wanda had a difficult time being honest with herself about her personal orientation and it wasn’t until she filed the divorce papers from her husband that she decided to come out. Nowadays, she’s a huge activist for the LGBT community. Furthermore, she has found love and is now happily married to Alex Sykes. They have twins together and Wanda often mentions her family life during her stand-up comedy routines.

Michael Kors has always been very open about his personal orientation. Unfortunately, this caused him a lot of grief while he was in school as the other kids would bully him for his mannerisms and way of speaking. Thankfully, he has managed to surpass this and has become an incredibly successful fashion designer. Furthermore, his job allowed him to meet his beloved husband, Lance LaPere, during a working trip. They have been together since and are happily married. Michael is a part of Dan Savage’s It Gets Better Project, in which successful members of the LGBT community tell their stories.
Jillian Michaels & Heidi Rhoades
Jillian Michaels has become a very famous personal trainer. After being a part of The Biggest Loser reality TV show for many years, her discipline and support for the contestants were widely noticed. Her personal orientation was not something she was very open about. However, she did comment on being attracted to both men and women. She and her former partner, Heidi Rhoades, have two children, one adopted and one through Heather’s pregnancy. Despite the fact that they've split in 2018, they continue to co-parent and have cited this as their main priority.
Lily Tomlin & Jane Wagner
Lily Tomlin is a very talented artist. Not only is she a well-established comedian, but she’s also a recording artist and a great actress. You can see her nowadays on the show Grace and Frankie, on the streaming TV platform, Netflix. Lily had never made her personal orientation a secret. However, when she got involved with current wife, Jane Wagner, in the ‘70s, newspapers didn’t talk about the subject. They were together for 42 years before tying the knot in 2013. Lily and Jane have collaborated in a couple of projects together and they’re very involved in the LGBT advocacy.

Ellen Page has shown how talented she is time after time. From participating in the X-Men movies to playing a pregnant teenager on Juno, she has reached worldwide fame slowly but surely. Ellen had decided to keep her personal orientation a private matter. However, the press always speculated about it and in 2014, she came out in a public event. She has made LGBT rights promotion as one of her primary activities and is now a lot more open about her relationships. She is currently married to Emma Portner, a dancer.
RuPaul & Georges LeBar
RuPaul has been one of the most influential figures involved in bringing drag queens into the mainstream. Thanks to his talk show and reality TV competition titled RuPaul’s Drag Race, he has been able to create more awareness and put the spotlight on what being in drag means. He has been with his current husband since 1994. They decided to get married on their 23rd anniversary, in 2017. Although there had been talks about having a baby, RuPaul had said that he didn’t feel like he would be able to dedicate the right amount of time to it.

Cheyenne Jackson didn’t have it easy when he was a child. Despite knowing about his personal orientation from a young age, it wasn’t until he was 19 that he came out to his family. The reactions in the conservative home were varied, but they eventually got through it. For Jackson, music was his escape. This was what led him to perform in numerous musicals and become a part of the Glee cast. Since then, he has been married twice, on this second occasion to Jason Landau. Jackson, who used to have an alcohol abuse problem, has now recovered and is the dad of twins, whom he welcomed alongside his husband.
Robin Roberts & Amber Laign
Robin Roberts didn’t see the need of having her coming out as a momentous event. She used a Facebook post in 2012 in which she thanked everyone who had helped her through her battle with cancer. In the post, she thanked her girlfriend Amber, which was the first public acknowledgment of their relationship. By that time, they had been together already for nine years. Robin, who has been hosting Good Morning America for years now, respects Amber’s private life. Although she mentions her in her book Everybody’s Got Something, she also acknowledges the fact that Amber doesn’t want to be in the spotlight.

Chely Wright is a very successful country music singer. However, she feared for her career due to her personal orientation. She had a very difficult time accepting herself, and despite being in long-term relationships with women, she felt guilty and bad about it. It wasn’t until in 2004 that she came out to her family and a few years later, to the entire public. Now, Cheryl is happily married to Lauren Blitzer and they are parents to beautiful twins. Cheryl is now very much involved with the LGBT community and her help has been instrumental in opening LikeMe Lighthouse. This is an LGBT center located in Cheryl’s native Kansas.
Sara Gilbert & Linda Perry
Sara Gilbert rose to fame for her role on the TV comedy, Roseanne. After this, she has been a fixed feature in the business, both in front of the camera and behind it. She’s the creator of the show, The Talk. However, she decided to leave this show in April 2019 in order to spend more time with her family. Her wife is songwriter Linda Perry and they have three kids together. They share custody time of two of them with Allison Adler, Sara’s former partner. Although Sara had been in relationships with women for a long time, she only openly came out in 2010.

Barry Manilow is one of the most iconic pop singers, mostly during the '70s. From hits like Copacabana (At the Copa) to Looks Like We Made It, he has made history in the music industry. He only came out recently, at 73 years of age! He had said that he was scared that fans would be disappointed. Barry has been in a relationship with Garry Kief for around 40 years, only getting married in 2014. We are not sure if there was a honeymoon, considering that Barry said they had basically been married the entire time, and this was just a way of making it official.
Nate Berkus & Jeremiah Brent
Nate Berkus always knew he was gay, but he didn’t come out to his family until he was attending higher education. Still, he couldn’t believe that his mom actually didn’t know considering that he had never been terribly secretive about it. Berkus, who is a home designer, is now married to Jeremiah Brent, who happens to be in the same business. They have their own show on the TLC network and are the proud dads to two children. They have been very open about their relationship and are considered role models for the LGBT youth.
Anderson Cooper & Benjamin Maisani
Anderson Cooper is one of the most well-known journalists out there. After years hosting and corresponding for CNN, his face has become famous all over the world. However, he didn’t think it was necessary to disclose his personal orientation to anyone; he wanted to report the news instead of becoming the subject of celebrity news. Nevertheless, he eventually came to realize that he didn’t want to feel as if he was hiding or ashamed of something, and came out in 2012. Anderson was in a long-term relationship with Benjamin Maisani, but they called it quits in 2018.
Darren Young & Nick Villa
Being a male wrestler is supposed to be about testosterone, fitness, and strength. Unfortunately, many people have the misconception that these qualities are irreconcilable with being gay. However, Darren Young decided that he didn’t want to hide who he was anymore and, despite being an active wrestler, he came out. He was an inspiration for many and even Cher wrote him, thanking him for his example. Young – who now goes by his real name, Fred Rosser - has been involved with the LGBT community ever since coming out, together with his partner Nick Villa.
Kristen Stewart & Stella Maxwell
Despite Kristen Stewart claiming to be a very private person, news about her romantic relationships always come to light. She was involved with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson for a long time before she was caught cheating, which had put an end to their relationship. Later, she would start dating women, without making any statement about it until in an episode of Saturday Night Live. Here, she acknowledged her personal orientation, claiming she was gay. In later interviews, she amended her statement and said she was attracted to both men and women. Kristen has been in an on-and-off relationship with Stella Maxwell.
Denis O’Hare & Hugo Redwood
Denis O’Hare didn’t want to wait one more minute after it became legal to marry his long-time boyfriend, Hugo Redwood. O'Hare, who starred in the anthology series American Horror Story, has never been secretive about his personal orientation. He has been an advocate for gay parenting and he and his husband fostered a child who is now a permanent part of their family. Denis' acting portfolio became even more impressive after being nominated for numerous awards for his role on American Horror Story. He has also starred in movies related to LGBT issues, such as Milk and Dallas Buyer’s Club.
Michael Sam & Vito Cammisano

Michael Sam was the first NFL player to come out while active in the sport. In fact, he came out before he was even drafted, and came clean with his college teammates at first. Thankfully, he found nothing but acceptance from them. His family was a bit tougher to crack, but they seemed to have come around. Sam was the star of a televised kiss with his boyfriend Vito Cammisano during the NFL draft. In 2015, they got engaged but ended the relationship only six months later. Sam has been involved in lobbying against any type of bill that could lead to discrimination against people in the LGBT community.
